Greatest Contribution 2022

We recently attended the annual conference and awards ceremony, sponsored by our suppliers. The weekend is an opportunity to meet suppliers, look at new technology, catch up with our fellow franchisees and support centre team and hear about the business performance and plans for forthcoming year.

During the weekend, Metro Rod host an awards ceremony and many of the support centre staff and franchises win awards. We were honoured to win the Gillian Walker award for Greatest Contribution 2022. Well Done to Jo Yates and the team at Lancashire.

"The award goes to someone who is not afraid to voice their opinion, but they do so in a constructive and supportive way. Recognising that there are areas that we can all improve, they are happy to share their local knowledge for the greater good of the business. She is a leading light in our business and a great example to everyone."

We asked Jo what she likes about her role at Metro Rod and how she felt about winning the award:

"I enjoy all aspects of my role mainly managing and developing the team and dealing with clients. At times running your own business is stressful but I believe its about surrounding yourself with the right people and having a strong work force that have the same vision as yourself. Being a franchised business is great, you have lots of support from the franchisor including HR, marketing, operations, and training amongst other areas. Over the years I have built some solid relationships with the support centre which helps in the day to day running of our business. At any time I have someone to go to for advice or help and on the flip side am challenged to always do better, its a two way relationship that's built on respect. I am immensely proud of this award but believe it was a team effort which resulted in me having the opportunity to achieve the Greatest Contribution Award 2022"
