We have recently received reports that Metro Rod’s name is being used as part of a rogue trader scam. Criminals are targeting individuals at their homes and via telephone, claiming to be part of Metro Rod, and asking for cash up front or internet banking to carry out emergency drainage work with the local council. In some cases targeted individuals have paid these criminals thousands of pounds to complete work that was never carried out.
Please NOTE that Metro Rod engineers will never ask for cash up front, and they will always carry a staff ID card on them and be dressed in full Metro Rod uniform, and that our vans and tankers are all liveried with Metro Rod logo, phone numbers and website .
If an individual approaches you at your home unexpectedly and claims to be part of Metro Rod, please ask him to wait and either phone us on 01258 863745 or look at our website which has pictures of our engineers.
