We have recently received reports that Metro Rod’s name is being used as part of a rogue trader scam. Criminals are targeting individuals at their homes and via telephone, claiming to be part of Metro Rod, and asking for cash up front to carry out emergency drainage work. In some cases, targeted individuals have paid these criminals thousands of pounds to complete work that was never carried out.
Please note that our engineers will never ask for cash up front, and they will always carry a staff ID card on them and be dressed in full Metro Rod uniform.
If an individual approaches you at your home and claims to be part of Metro Rod, please ask to see his staff ID card and check whether he is wearing the correct uniform.
