Here at Metro Rod in Liverpool we pride ourselves in investing continually in the latest equipment, to ensure that our customer's drain problems are dealt with in the best way possible - quickly and efficiently.
If you are a follower of our Facebook or Twitter Pages you may have seen us referring to engineers using various pieces of equipment. Whilst we fully understand what they are and how they operate we thought it may be worth explaining it a little bit more!
Today, we're going to explain The Crawler camera.
The Crawler is a robotic camera which, due to it's wheels, can literally 'crawl' into a drain and survey it! They are generally used in larger drainage and sewers and here at Metro Rod Liverpool we have 2 crawler units. The smaller one being ideal for 300mm to 600mm drains and a larger unit which can deal with drains up to 1500mm - clearly a solution for the vast majority of eventualities.
These are fitted into the Metro Rod van but can be generator/battery operated also, meaning that on sites where access is limited we can still utilise the crawler and reach places that may otherwise be hard to reach. Each Crawler unit has various wheels which can be attached for different terrains, so there are no problems there either. The 360 degree 'pan and rotate' head as well as the forward facing and rear cameras ensure that we always get a detailed visual inspection.
We can use the Crawler along with the I-touch system, meaning that you get a clear report on the conditions of the drain really quickly.
