With Winter setting in its time to put your feet up, stick the kettle on and of course set the candles alight for the perfect winter night in.
Sometimes, people mistakenly think that pouring hot candle wax down the sink is the safest way to dispose of it; instead, it is a good way to block your drain. If your sink, tub or toilet is clogged with wax, there are ways you can try to remove it.
Boil water and pour it down the sink. It may take some time for the water to drain completely. Repeat as often as necessary to make sure the pipes are flushed of the wax. You can also run the hot tap to flush the pipes as the clog begins to melt
Do not pour petroleum-based solvents down the drain, as they can melt plastic pipes and even cause a fire. Do not use a product made to unclog drains to clear the blockage. Do not attempt to plunge the wax clog out of the drain. Do not use an air gun when trying to remove a wax clog.
