I’m sure you’ll all agree, we’ve had one strange year. Hopefully, it has been a chance for you to send some precious time with your loved ones and enjoy the fabulous weather that we’ve been so lucky to have.
Although our office was closed for 10 weeks until we could arrange safe distance working, our men have continued working 24/7, wearing additional PPE in order that they could work safely.
Supplying places such as the Hospitals, Care Sectors and other emergency services has been vital during the lockdown as you can imagine drainage issues can pose a health risk due to the foul waste; the health and safety of our engineers was critical while caring for our customers. It also meant that everyone at home had peace of mind knowing that Metro Rod would still come out 24/7 to deal with Plumbing or Drainage faults.
Tommy has joined us at the beginning of June as a Tanker Operative, working with our team to cover all tanker services that we offer across the Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Whitby, Alnmouth and everywhere in between. Tommy is an experienced driver and has been learning the additional skills required. It’s important that he understand the different types of waste we remove from sites and how this is safely disposed of in accordance with environmental guidance.
Say Hi to Chantelle, our newest Scheduler & office admin. Chantelle has settled straight into the office team, learning the roles and taking in all of the new information we’re throwing her way! Chantelle has extensive experience of working in offices and is a great addition to our already successful team.
Meet the newest plumber to our team, Kalum! Coming to us straight after completing his plumbing course and after we delivered some inhouse training he’s now out and about in his own van helping to resolve plumbing emergencies with a smile.
Meet Mikey who moved from Liverpool to Cramlington when he was told he had been successful in getting his job at Metro Rod as a Drainage General Assistant, Mickey has been able to see first-hand the day of a drainage engineer and had boosted the process with his keen attitude. Mikey has grand ideas and doesn’t expect to stay in this job long with ideas of promotion.
Last but not least, say Hi to Dan, working with us as a Drainage Assistant he has compounded his existing knowledge in all aspects of Drainage emergencies and
services. Working alongside a senior Drainage Engineer he is gaining the experience needed to advance to a drainage engineer in the future. We’re confident that this won’t take long.
As you can see, we’re beaming with pride over our new employees. They are invaluable in helping to ease the volume of work coming back following businesses reopening recently. We look forward to continuing growing the businesses along with our workforce and I’m sure you’ll join me in celebrating bringing another 5 great people into our business!
Stay safe and take care!
